The Rundown...

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive in the Mediterranean city of Tangier, and settle into our home for the next two nights. We'll head out for an evening stroll in the medina, and share a sunset drink overlooking the city like the famous artists in the 60s and 70s used to... We'll celebrate the start of our journey with a festive dinner before calling it a night.

Day 2

We'll start our day with our first yoga practice, enjoying the view of the sea from our rooftop terrace. After breakfast, we'll go on a walking tour of the city, taking in all the sights and smells, and stopping for mint tea along the way. In the evening, we'll hit some of the famous beatnik hangouts, followed by dinner.

Chefchaouen, Morocco

Our home here is a beautiful, boutique guesthouse just above the river, in the heart of the Blue Pearl. With the rustic mountain village just steps from the door, there's plenty to explore.

Day 5

Start the day with an optional sunrise market walk to see how the locals start their day. We'll return to our riad for morning yoga, and after breakfast, we'll pack up and begin our drive to Fes. Arriving in the afternoon, we'll settle into our private villa, and head out to explore the walled city. Fes is full of incredible artisans, rich traditions, and culinary delights. Be ready for bustling energy and vibrant colors.

Day 6

With the call to prayer ringing throughout the city, we'll start our day with morning yoga. After breakfast, we'll head out for a short walking tour of Fes to learn about its imperial history, the spiritual importance of the city's madrassas, and the intricate craftsmanship local artisans are so proud of. We'll enjoy a small bite before returning to our villa for an afternoon cooking class and homemade dinner.

Day 7

After morning practice, we'll venture out of the city to the UNESCO protected ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. We'll stop by Moulay Idriss, one of Morocco's holiest sites,  before returning to Fes in the afternoon. Choose to spend the afternoon relaxing in the local hammam or get lost wandering the medina before our final night dinner.

Tangier, Morocco

Our home here is a beautiful, private riad in the heart of the medina. There is a protected terrace, overlooking the city and sea, five bedrooms, and ample space to relax...

Day 3

After our morning yoga practice, we'll bid farewell to Tangier, and depart for the Rif Mountains, home of the Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen. En route, we'll stop for a stunning hike up to the Akchour Waterfall, where you can be intrepid and jump in the cool waters or simply enjoy the view. From there, we'll continue to God's Bridge, a naturally forming landmass over a canyon far below. After our hike, we'll head to our home for the next two nights, in the town famous for its picturesque blue-washed walls. Once we settle into our boutique hotel in Chefchaouen, we'll go on a photography stroll before dinner in town.

Day 4

Today, we'll get an early start and head up the mountain right from our doorstep. We'll pass by the Spanish Mosque, and walk beneath towering cliffs above on our hike to a neighboring village for a tasty, homemade lunch. From there, you'll have the option to return back on foot, or head back to town by vehicle for some downtime. We'll finish the day with a restorative, sunset practice. Dinner tonight will be on your own.

Fes, Morocco

Our private villa, just steps from the medina, is nestled right on the edge of the walled city. After the hustle and bustle of the city, we'll have our own garden, pool, and terraces to relax in, just like a traditional oasis.

Who are your hosts?

Sarah Lewis

I am originally from California, but I have lived, studied, and guided in Morocco since 2017. My background is in active travel, and I have been a professional biking and hiking guide in 11 countries since 2011, including Morocco. I speak 5 and a half languages, including French and some Arabic (I'm learning!), and I hold an MSc in Environment and Development from the LSE. I have a profound appreciation for yoga, and after years of practice, I completed my yoga teacher training in 2019. I am excited to share my love for Morocco, yoga, and nature with you on this incredible journey!

Imane Bacha

I am from Fes, Morocco, and I love my city! I studied English Literature and Language at University, and I now work in tourism. I can't wait to share my beautiful country with you!

Imane and I first met in 2017 when I was visiting Fes. She was our hostess and the best part of our visit to her enchanting city. She is not only a wonderful ambassador for her country, but she is a kind and genuine soul who is a delight to spend time with. We have continued to see each other during my visits to Morocco, and we keep in touch often. I'm so excited to return to Morocco and to have the chance to travel with her again!

Questions?

Just ask...

Do I need to be an advanced yogi?

Nope! Absolutely anyone can join.   Our yoga classes will be designed for beginner to intermediate yogis, but we'll suggest options for every level. If you're brand new to yoga, start taking classes now!

Do I need to do everything on the itinerary?

This is your trip! If you are looking for more time on your own or want to do something different, you'll have the flexibility to do whatever will make this the best possible trip for you.

What if I am traveling on my own?

No problem. If adventure is calling, follow your heart! You can either room on your own or I can pair you with another solo traveler in a twin room. Don't worry, you'll make friends in no time. Plus you've got me!

What's the accommodation like?

All of our accommodation setups are a bit different... In Tangier, we'll be sharing a large family-style home. In Chefchaouen, we'll be staying in a boutique hotel. In Fes, we'll be staying in our own private villa. Most rooms have an ensuite bathroom, and some are like a real home, where we'll be sharing some spaces.

Will I need to stick to a particular diet?

Nope! While some of us are vegetarian, some of us won't be. Many of our meals will be custom ordered, so you can make requests beforehand. If there's something you're dying to try, just let me know!

Morocco, yallah!

To make this happen, email me at sarahlewistravel@gmail.com (or fill out the form to the right)! Space is limited to 10 travelers, so you'll need to reserve your spot as soon as I announce new dates!

A non-refundable deposit of $500 will required to reserve your space. The remaining balance can be paid in full or by payment plan via bank transfer or online payment at least 60 days prior to the trip.
